Yeh–in talking about this I’m fully biased, but what did you expect, anyway? This is a Christian blog and I’m a preacher, so I won’t make any pretensions toward neutrality. In fact, I’ll say it like the Apostle Paul said it when he was imprisoned. During his interogation, his answers began to have more content and passion until the interrogator stopped and asked him, “Do you try to persuade me to become a Christian?” Paul said, “I wish to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today might become both almost and altogether as I am, except for these chains” (Acts 26:28-29).
So much for impartiality. My hope in the No Blind Leaps series does not lie in providing a philosophical forum. I don’t think I am high brow enough for that approach and besides, I don’t know very many two dollar words (Uh wait–epistomology!–I knew I had at least one). Instead I want to help clear the way for people who might be considering the Christian faith, yet can’t seem to get off the starting line. How much evidence should we hold out for before we “buy the farm?” Should we wait until proof is undeniable, like the nose on our face? These are questions some people ask. So, I’m going to begin providing some abstracts of the thoughts I’m currently preaching.
