There’s no more chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Beloved family members have once again scattered. It’s just you and those credit card bills. Now what? The work week has roared back into full operation, with nary a break in sight. If you’re living in Ohio (like I am), the weather won’t be cheering your mood much, either. The cursed post holiday vacuum doesn’t seem good for much except one thing: it can remind us to think about the meaning of life. (more…)

I wish I could say more for the Christmas season. Maybe I’m just a Scrooge, but the whole thing seems swamped in commercial endeavors. Whatever profound sentiments that are left over and haven’t been packaged, marketed and peddled get eclipsed by inane traditions of every flavor. And the music…don’t get me started.
